Indian Rocks Beach is known as “Florida’s Safest Beach”
Indian Rocks Beach reputedly got its name from the pilgrimage of Indians who came to the area to bathe and drink the healing waters from the springs. These same artesian wells still run under the ground of Sunshine Cozy Cottages.
Legend has it that the land is protected by Indian spirits and that is why the beach is known as Florida’s safest beach.

Here at Indian Rocks Beach you can laze the days away on miles of fine white, sandy, pristine beaches or enjoy the numerous parks and recreational facilities. Nearby there are tennis courts, basketball courts, a leash-free dog park, a ball field and a state of the art skateboard park. There are numerous family-oriented events and festivals throughout the year, such as the Fall Arts Festival, Oktoberfest and “Beauty & the Beach”.
